Featherweight Fact
The newest Featherweight is 42 years old and the oldest are 77 years old. I marvel at the fact that I spent 40 years as a mechanical designer for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC and I was often tasked with designing a mechanism that would work hundreds or thousands of times, but never was I asked to design something to last 50 or 75 years. Yet, we have the Singer 221 and 222K Featherweight sewing machines which have withstood that test of time and are still considered the perfect machine for the modern quilter. The Featherweight that has sat in a barn for the last fifty years or the one that has been loved and cared for by multiple generations of the same family share a common bond. With a good cleaning, oil, lube and adjustment, they can both make that same cherished perfect stitch time after time.
My 221's and 222K's come with a one year warranty. If for any reason your Featherweight fails to provide that perfect Featherweight Stitch, you pay to ship the machine to me and I will repair it and pay to ship the machine back to you.
